Do you take small painting jobs?
Yes. Small jobs are welcome. Whether it’s a single room, a few doors, trim, baseboards, or another smaller interior project, the work gets the same care and attention as a larger job.
What preparation is included?
That depends on the condition of the surfaces, but typical preparation includes filling holes and cracks, sanding rough areas, caulking where needed, priming when necessary, and making sure surfaces are clean and ready for paint. The preparation required for your project will be included in the quote.
Do you move furniture and protect floors?
Yes. Furniture is moved or covered as needed, and floors, counters, fixtures, and other surfaces are protected before painting begins. I’m also very particular about keeping the work area neat and tidy, and I try to leave the space as clean — or cleaner — than I found it.
What paint brands do you use?
I most often use Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams, but I’m happy to work with other quality products when there’s a good reason to use them. Paint selection is based on the room, surface, finish, colour, and the needs of the client.
Do you do exterior painting?
Yes, on smaller-scale exterior projects. I regularly paint things like decks, porches, fences, doors, trim, and other accessible exterior surfaces. I don’t take on high exterior work that requires reaching much above about 20 feet.
What areas of Vancouver do you work in?
I work throughout Vancouver, with most of my projects in the city itself. If you’re not sure whether your location is within my service area, feel free to ask.
Do you work on one job at a time?
Yes. Once I start your project, I stay with it until it’s finished rather than disappearing halfway through to work somewhere else.
Can you accommodate allergies or sensitivities?
Yes. Most modern interior paints are already low- or zero-VOC, but very low-odour and zero-emission options are also available for people who are particularly sensitive to paint smells or airborne chemicals. Benjamin Moore Eco Spec is one example.
Can I work from home while you’re painting?
Usually, yes. I’m happy to work around meetings, Zoom calls, or rooms that need to stay available. On larger projects, I can also work in sections so only part of the home is disrupted at a time.
How quickly will you respond?
Usually very quickly. I make a point of responding to new inquiries as soon as I can, and almost always within 24 hours.
Is the quote fixed?
Yes. The quote is the price for the agreed scope of work. There are no surprise charges added at the end.
