Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short- and long-term adverse health effects. Concentrations of many VOCs are consistently higher indoors (up to ten times higher) than outdoors. VOCs are emitted by a wide array of products numbering in the thousands.

Unfortunately our homes are filled with products and materials that emit Vocs. Any furniture or flooring made from mdf or particle board (almost all IKEA furniture) carpets, household cleaners, dry cleaning, and anything with artificial fragrances.

Your walls and ceilings are the largest surface area of your home and therefore can have a significant impact on the interior air quality for your children, pets and self. At Port City Painting we will choose the cleanest, safest and most durable products to ensure your family can breathe easy.

We can also help you reduce the exposure from old, less friendly products like oil paint. We can seal in the old paints before applying new clean air paint.
